Plans to build a 717,000-square-foot industrialk building for the company in the Couchville Pike Businesz Center were announced Tuesday bythe center’ds owner and developer . Construction is slated to begin later this The move willcombine Nissan’s operations now housed in two building in Smyrna in the Alamville Road area, and no additiona l jobs are expected to be added, says Nissan spokeswoman Julie Lawless. The tentative openinb date is April 2010, she The new Nissan Parts Distribution Center will featurwea 32-foot clear heightg and a truck parking/loading area to accommodatwe 275 truck trailers around the buildingt perimeter.
The building is designed to accommodate future expansions upto 1.2 million square feet. Don Kent and Clintob Gilbreath, both vice presidentsw with in Nashville, brokered the long-term lease. Termxs were not disclosed. The Couchville Pike Business Center is locatedr 25 miles eastof Nashville.
